Ready to Maximize Your AdSense Income?

Google Adsense is a terrific way of adding a passive income stream to a website.  Some website owners are earning enough to buy a coffee each day (sometimes a STARBUCKS coffee, even!). Many publishers who never made a penny on their websites are now making a great living by displaying Google ads on their pages.

But if you think slapping the code on your pages is going to create miracles for you, I'm sorry to tell you it ain't going to happen that way. Just like everything else in Internet marketing, there are techniques you can use (actually, must use!) to maximize your AdSense income and through testing and tracking -- you can continue to increase your income...even without any extra traffic.

Joel Comm, author of What Google Never Told You About Making Money with AdSense, covers a lot of these techniques in his ebook. I have followed a small portion of his techniques and applied them to about 40% of my website pages and produced an initial bump of $50 per day in my income. That average is up to about $60 now. Things that Joel covers:

• How to tweak your ads so people will click them. You know, I've said over and over again that you have to do what you can to make your ads look like content...instead of ads. If you just do this one thing, you'll certainly see an immediate different in your clickthrough rate.

• How to maximize your ad visibility. Google provides you a "heat map" to show where users are most likely to look on your page. Joel takes this information and shows you specific case studies and ad placements that increase the clicking. Who doesn't like the clicking? :-)

• How to make the RIGHT ads show. You know when you make a new page about antique dolls and Google shows ads for anything but dolls? There are ways to help that silly Google robot along so they'll show the ads you want.

• Making money with the search box. There is an incredibly clever idea about this. If you have a website that provides lots of good content on a certain subject area, I highly recommend that you try this out. I'm working on implementing the strategy right now and I'll tell you how it goes.

• EXACTLY how to test and track: I know a lot of people say they "tested" something on their site and determined that X was a better way than Y...but the test actually lacks reliability because they weren't tracked properly. I have been SOOOOOOO guilty of this myself...many times. Joel lays out a precise plan on how to properly test and track your Adsense to continually increase your income.

• And a whole bunch more stuff. Joel can explain what's in his ebook better than me and I'll tell you where to check out in a second...

But I Also Have a Few Thoughts on the Subject That Can Help You Maximize Your Income Further

Joel's making a heck of a lot more money with AdSense than I am, but I have to tell you that the check that Google sends me each month is enough to pay all my monthly bills...not too shabby, right? I feel tremendously blessed to have had this content on the net and just by adding some ads to it, I get to keep a roof over my head and keep any bill collectors at bay.

I had already read the first version of Joel's ebook and started applying the techniques with success, as I mentioned earlier. When I received the 2nd edition yesterday, I read through it in its entirety and took some great notes because I was so excited about the possibilities. I'd like to share those with you. I don't mean notes that simply rehash what Joel says in his ebook, but ADDITIONAL techniques and strategies to maximize your income. Here's a few of the things I'm sharing:

• My case studies that have produced huge clickthrough rates (Google says I can't tell you the precise figure) for different ad formats and using Google AdLinks. I'll show you some sites where I've implemented these strategies you can try on your website.

• Why I think you MUST try a certain ad format that Joel says to stay away from at all costs. I've tested this ad format and found a way to make it work and to make it work well!

• How to effectively use a skyscraper text ad. I agree with Joel, they usually produce poorly, but I found a place where they work like a charm.

• How to improve your website's navigation to increase your ad performance. I've battled numerous navigation battles and let me help you avoid the mistakes I made.

• My case study on how to increase my search box income. Thus far, I have made squat from these search boxes and took them off most of my sites. As I mentioned before, Joel has an ingenious idea on how to make it work. I am going to implement it and share the details, so you can use it for your website too.

• The newest version of Joel's ebook includes information on creating content for your website. I have additional, low cost ways to start building more content. Because yes, you can increase your Adsense income without increasing your traffic --- but more traffic is ALWAYS helpful.
