It’s the final week of June…yowsers. The year is zooming by,
isn’t it? Have you had a chance to review your goals for the
year and see if you’re on track? We’re halfway through the
year and it’s a perfect time to see where you’re at and
where you’re going.
I’m not sure if you keep up with my blog, but last week
something happened to me that might completely shutdown some
online businesses, but I’ve managed to muddle through. If
you rely on just 1 or 2 sources of traffic – or just 1
website to keep your business afloat, you will want to read
this entry:
http://www.internetbasedmoms.com/news/banned.html
But let’s forget about that nasty news for a bit and
concentrate on the positive things in our business. I wanted
to make sure I said thanks for the great feedback on the
information about articles last week. The great thing about
articles and distributing them to other sites is that:
1. You get extra promotion for your business.
2. You build relationships with your readers and establish
your expertise.
3. You can increase your search engine rankings for
particular phrases.
4. You receive “multiple streams of promotion” because
other websites and newsletters publish your articles and
send traffic to you.
Obviously, #3 is important to all of us, given what I
mentioned on my blog. If we only rely on search engines to
bring us all our traffic and that traffic is shut down,
we’re doomed. The nice thing about articles is that it can
help with search engine rankings, but they can bring a
steady stream of traffic through direct links if you craft
your articles to encourage the click-through.
So, let’s get to a couple questions from this week:
1. Thanks for the information about article writing,
Alice. I am wondering if you can talk about how to write a
byline at the bottom of my articles.

2. I am thinking of optimizing my site to get more traffic
and hopefully increase my sales. Do you think it's a good
idea?

Last week, in the newsletter supplement I sent out on
Wednesday, I told you that I was reviewing an article
distribution software and comprehensive course on marketing
with articles. It’s called “Article Announcer” and it will
be ready for public viewing tomorrow. I’ll email you then to
remind you and I’ll even have some extra goodies for you, if
you decide to pick up a copy.
I have to tell you the software is quite amazing and I only
have space to mention a few features here. It keeps your
articles in a database and you’ll have a constant record of
where you’ve submitted your articles. It submits it to
article directories, announcements lists, does a word count,
formats your articles and streamlines the whole submission
process. Until now, I’ve been paying an assistant $10-20 to
do this manually EACH TIME I wanted to send out an article.
In other words, using this software saves you time and
money…plus it helps you get your articles out to more
potential publishers.
What’s really cool about the program created by Jason Potash
is that there are videos to show you how to do everything
and how to maximize your marketing value from articles. Like
I mentioned last week, many people say you should send out
articles and many people do this, but they fail to receive
the results they want. Jason really cuts through all the
wishy-washy information that is out there and shows you how
to get the most traffic and how to increase your response
rates from using articles.
Anyway, I don’t want to take up too much of your time now,
but I will be back tomorrow with more details on the
program.
Take care and talk to you soon,
Alice Seba
